How Annie

March 15-16, 2013

It's been a very long day - our longest leg was 14 hours. Dan & Dayna managaed a few good naps. Alaina only got about 1 1/2 hours of sleep.

But, we made all of our connections, none of our luggage was lost, and we somehow managed to score seats in Economy Plus. I never realized what a difference 2 extra inches of leg room can make. We watched many movies (hooray for United and the ability to choose from a HUGE selection of entertainment options), ate a lot of food, and got up many times to stretch our legs and use the facilities.

When we landed in Beijing (Terminal 3 is the 2nd largest airport terminal in the world!), we managed to find our way through immigration, baggage claim and customs before we found our friend Scott. After a short drive through parts of Beijing, we found our way to the complex where Scott and Elaine live. We were able to have a leisurely afternoon and evening, and thoroughly enjoyed some good American homestyle cooking. Elaine was a friend of mine from high school, and it's fun to catch up with each other.

For now, we are sleepy, and we've made it to bedtime. So with a little help from Lunesta, I think we'll be calling it a night.
